Daily Dime
"Brother, can you spare a dime?" is one of the most famous requests in American history. It is the title of a 1932 song, which became the best-selling record of the Great Depression Era, America's worst financial crisis. The whole premise of this quote is that somebody going through a hard time in life - whether financial or otherwise - sometimes just needs a little assistance to overcome an obstacle, solve a problem, or lessen a stressful situation.
We at Purposeful Publishing believe that every person could use a small boost to get through the day: something that puts a joyous smile on a face or a good feeling in one’s heart. Our contribution comes in the way of words, pictures, and videos, and we will put one of these 3 forms of expression out every day of the year in the hopes that we can raise someone's spirit, open their mind, or add a little light to one’s life, no matter how fleeting the moment may be.
Our motto is, "If it doesn't make a difference, it doesn't get shared here."
MONDAY
Real-life role models exceeding expectations, defying all odds, overcoming obstacles, disabling disabilities, and immersing themselves in uplifting undertakings. These inspiring individuals are icons of resilience and redemption, service and sacrifice, and, above all else, perseverance and performance.
Monday's focus is on indomitable spirits who turn loss into legacy and failure into fortune, make the most of the least and best of the worst, and do so with unmatched humility, gratitude, and grace. This is not to say these individuals are perfect – as no human being is - but they are absolutely pillars of what is possible.
TUESDAY
A picture may paint a THOUSAND words, but a photograph captures just as many: the power of an image to generate thought, invoke feelings, and tell a story.
All photographs were shot with a cell phone, and there were no color changes or any other special effects utilized during the taking of the pictures, nor added after they had been shot.
The only thing put into use was the zoom-in/zoom-out function. Often, when zooming in on an object or taking a picture from an extremely close distance, the background would blur on its own, making the object being focused on pop with vibrant, crystal-clear detail. However, there was no intentional manipulation by the photographer, John “Coach” McHale.
WEDNESDAY
Compelling communication that addresses many of the issues, situations, circumstances, and other occurrences that take their toll on many people’s minds, hearts, and souls, which essentially affects their lives. Wisdom, perspective, and deep personal understandings are delivered in 3 forms of visual arts: television, movies, and plays.
Televisionaries (Acting Lessons) | Movieing Lines (Script Scraps) | Stage Presence (Food for Thought)
THURSDAY
Songs from all genres with a message in the music. Basically, this is poetry set to the motion of rhythm, melody, and musical instruments.
However, the lyrics are loaded with life lessons, inspiration, various perspectives, and extensive knowledge of the human condition and the different paths on the journey that we are all traveling.
FRIDAY

Regardless of the interviewer’s and interviewee’s social standing, the insights shared and wisdom revealed are eye-opening, thought-provoking, and a cause for reflection, growth, and a deeper understanding of people and life.
***The insight gathered consists of direct quotes, direct dialogues, and partial and full summaries of interviews from television shows, radio broadcasts, documentary films, and podcasts.
SATURDAY
Living through the Lens – Experiencing things through the eyes of another.
All videos were shot with a cell phone, and there were no color changes or any other special effects utilized during the filming of the videos nor added after they had been shot.
The only thing put into use was the zoom-in/zoom-out function. There was no other intentional manipulation by the videographer, John “Coach” McHale.
